An Observational Carnival of HR

Hi there Carnival people! It’s that time again, when we all gather round to see what magic the latest Carnival of HR has in store for us! The latest Carnival is live today and it was hosted by Mike Haberman over at his HR Observations Blog! Mike has put together a great collection of posts that he felt feel into one of two categories: Personal Growth and Company Growth. Intrigued? You should be. You should go check it out and I can promise that you’ll grow as a professional if you do!

Rolling right along, the next Carnival of HR will be on February 2nd and hosted by the one, the only, Evil HR Lady herself Suzanne Lucas!! As the original founder and Godmother of the Carnival of HR, we are thrilled to have her back and hosting! I suggest you get your posts ready to go and be sure to pay proper homage to Suzanne when you send them in. *whispers* I hear Godmothers grant wishes, but only if you’re good and come bearing brownies as an offering. Ahem.

Anywho, don’t forget to sign up for the Carnival email reminder list as well, to make sure you are always in the know. See you next Carnival!

Wanted: eBook Submissions

Why hello there Carnival people! I have an opportunity I would like to share with you that I hope you will find as exciting as I do. You see, Ben Eubanks, the highly-caffeinated and fun father of two absolutely adorable twin girls, is putting together another ambitious project and he wants to invite you all to participate! Cause, you know, Ben isn’t involved in enough social media projects. But that’s why we love him.

So here in his own words, is Ben’s latest project:

Hey! As a participant in the carnival, I know you have some valuable insights to share with the HR community. As a part of a new project, I am gathering links to posts on the topic of new hire orientation/onboarding. The posts will go into a free eBook with a creative commons license (to encourage sharing). If you are interested in being a part of this project, I need the link from you by January 24th. f you have not written something on the topic before but would like to be included in the eBook, please get it written and the link to me by the 24th. Along with that link, I need a one sentence bio with this format: Firstname Lastname is the author of Blogname.

I will have final say as to whether or not a submission is suitable for the eBook. Get those links in and I’ll keep you posted on the status!

Please email your submissions to upstarthr at gmail dot com! eBooks are fun and easy ways to share ideas and content so I hope you will consider participating! I know I will.

New Year, New Carnival, New Post

Happy New Year!!! *throws confetti* Hello 2011, we’re glad to see you!

Now that the Carnival of HR has this fancy new site and all, I decided that this would be the perfect time to move these Carnival recaps off my own blog and move them over here where it’ll be much more relevant.

So, kicking off a new year, a new Carnival host stepped up and got us started right! Hosted by Laura Schroeder at her Working Girl blog, it’s an impressive collection of reflections, resolutions, and even a rant too. Now, I’m not one to make resolutions, but if you are, I suggest you make participation in the Carnival of HR an important one! Even better, all you have to do is go here to get started.

Rolling along we have Mike Haberman at his HR Observations blog hosting the January 19th Carnival of HR. Stay tuned for all the details and be sure sign up for the email reminder list if you haven’t already!
